• Training is provided, but previous hog farm experience would be an asset.
• You need to be physically fit.
• You have good observation skills, assisting with herd health by detecting/treating sick animals, and are able to keep accurate records.
• You must be able to work independently as well as be a team player.
• Dependable, punctual.
• Comfortable with computer controls.
• Mechanically inclined, able to do minor repairs.

Do you love animals? A modern and expanding hog finishing farm (18,000 head/year) requires a herd health worker for a position open immediately.

Duties include monitoring and adjusting computer controlled barn environment, monitoring animal health and growth weights prior to shipment, and selecting appropriate market-weight animals from within a computerized automated sorting system.

Position could be full-time or part-time working into full-time. Hours are Monday to Friday days, and alternating weekends, with shorter hours required on the weekends.
