• High school graduation an asset.
• Functional understanding of minor to medium mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system operation.
• Ability to communicate well with poultry producers.
• Ability to be detail oriented.
• Post high school technical diploma related to the duties of the job and asset.
• Must be bondable and consent to police record check.
• The ability to operate a cutting torch an asset.

  Candidates must have experience in the following areas:

• driving vehicles while pulling trailers in excess of 20 feet.
• Performing routine maintenance on mechanical systems.
• Periodic minor repair/replacement of worn out machinery parts.
• Some troubleshooting knowledge related to machinery operational problems such as those found in small displacement engines, electrical, or hydraulic system failures.

  Candidates are preferred to have experience in these areas:

• Computer software such as MS Excel, MS Word.
• Varied experience in mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical (and hydraulic) systems.
• Welding experience definitely an asset, but not necessary.

This job will require flexibility in working hours and conditions. Since a lot of outdoor work is involved, some work may be in conditions of adverse weather.

Work Schedule:

• 25-40 hours per week (schedule is flexible and open to discussion).
• Usually Monday - Friday and rare Saturday.

  Duties:

• Coordinates all trucking and marketing connections for bulk shipments.
• Minor maintenance of machinery mechanical and electrical components.
• Keeps and maintains records of all shipments.
• Schedules usage of machinery.
• Facilitates good relations with poultry farmers and crop producers.
• Responsible for overseeing and tracking machinery usage and for keeping records of machinery condition and maintenance and repair required.
• Assists in field research projects as necessary.
• Driving vehicles while pulling trailers in excess of 20 feet hauling conveyor mainly in Abbotsford area as well as Chilliwack and Langley.
